The Date success story illustrates how a properly implemented WMS can play an active role in streamlining and controlling storage and value-added operations within a warehouse.
Date is a Uruguayan logistics operator with nationwide reach, specializing in the storage and handling of products. It offers comprehensive logistics services, including telematics management and specific value-added activities, tailored to the requirements of its clients’ supply chains. It operates a 3,000 m² temperature-controlled warehouse authorized by the MSP to handle food and cosmetics. Among its clients is Montevideo Refrescos (Coca-Cola), for which it provides nationwide distribution and warehousing services.
The Challenge
Given the sustained growth of its operations, Date found itself needing to systematize and computerize its processes to enable better control over them.
To that end, they decided to search for a WMS system that would meet their needs. In addition to optimizing storage space and enabling operational traceability, the new system had to support the management of the many value-added tasks they performed on a daily basis. These included product packaging, labeling, assembling promotional kits, and localizing products (voltage and labeling).
The Solution
After evaluating the various options available on the market, Date selected GlobalTech’s GT WMS as the software best suited to meet its needs.
The software was implemented through a collaborative effort between the two companies. The first step was a consulting and process review, during which the various activities carried out within the warehouse were analyzed to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
After gaining a thorough understanding of the operation, the system was installed and configured in accordance with the operational workflows determined in the previous stage. The implementation team ensured optimal performance in line with Date’s specific needs, paying particular attention to value-added processes.
Finally, prior to the launch, a training and pre-production testing process was conducted in collaboration with the warehouse’s operational staff, thereby ensuring a smooth launch.
Date continues to monitor its daily operations using GT WMS in a reliable and consistent manner.
