The success case of Date reflects how a properly implemented WMS software can play an active role in systematizing and controlling storage and value-added operations within a warehouse

Date is a logistics operator in Uruguay with national reach, specializing in the storage and handling of products. It offers comprehensive logistics services, including telematic management and specific value-added activities, according to the demands of its clients' distribution chains. It has a 3,000 m2 warehouse with temperature control and MSP approval to manage food and cosmetics. Among its clients is Montevideo Refrescos (Coca-Cola), for whom it carries out national distribution and storage.

The Challenge

Faced with the sustained growth of its operation, Date found the need to systematize and computerize its processes to allow better control of them.

To this end, they decided to search for a WMS system that would fit their needs. In addition to optimizing storage space and allowing operational traceability, the new system had to manage the multiple value-added tasks they performed daily. These included conditioning, labeling, promotion kit assembly, and product nationalization (voltage and labeling).

The Solution

After evaluating the different alternatives available in the market, Date selected GT WMS from GlobalTech as the appropriate software to meet its needs.

The software implementation was carried out through teamwork between both companies. The first step was a consulting and process review process, where the different activities carried out within the warehouse were studied, detecting strengths and actions to be adjusted.

After having a complete understanding of the operation, the system was installed and parameterized, configuring it according to the operational circuits determined in the previous stage. The implementation team ensured optimal operation with respect to Date's specific needs, paying particular attention to value-added processes.

Finally, prior to implementation, a training and pre-production testing process was carried out with the warehouse's operational personnel, ensuring a smooth launch.
